Avoid gate valves where frequent throttling is needed. Partial opening causes vibration, disc erosion, and premature seat failure. For throttling duties, choose a globe valve instead.

Floating ball valves are suitable for smaller sizes (up to 6″) and lower pressure classes. Trunnion-mounted ball valves are preferred for larger diameters and high-pressure applications where operating torque must be minimised and structural integrity assured.

WHY SWING CHECK VALVES?

Check valves are self-acting safety devices — they require no operator input. A swing check valve uses a hinged disc that opens under forward flow and snaps shut the instant flow reverses. They protect pumps, compressors, and pipeline equipment from damaging backflow and water hammer.
